About the Organization
HOPES (Higher and Further Education Opportunities and Perspectives for Syrians) is a 12 million euro project funded by the European Union's regional aid fund for the Syrian Crisis and run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), British Council, Campus France, and Nuffic.
The aim of the project is to facilitate access to quality higher and further education for post-secondary education refugees from Syria and youth from host countries affected by the large influx of refugees.
The HOPES Project (Higher and Further Education Opportunities and Perspectives for Syrians) funds innovative, short-term education projects carried out by local and regional educational institutions in order to support refugees from Syria and local people affected by the situation in Egypt, Northern Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey.
Priority Areas
To increase the number of both Syrian and Turkish youth in the age of 18-32 (after secondary education) of the target groups receiving Higher and Further Education or language courses, to increase the access opportunities of both Syrian and Turkish youth to higher and further education by increasing the capacity of educational institutions in the education of refugees, and to strengthen the education of refugees with online resources, better access to innovative lessons and educational support.
HOPES Project supports projects that contribute to the development of social cohesion and dialogue between Syrian Refugees and local people.
About Application
Organizations from Egypt, Northern Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and/or Syria can apply. Local organizations can request funds from € 6,000 to € 60,000 for a maximum period of 12 months within the framework of their activities. Application documents on the website must be completed in English and sent via email.
