Bir Arada Yaşarız Eğitim ve Sosyal Araştırmalar Vakfı (BAYETAV) has announced a call for applications for new research projects to support intersectional research to address social inequalities in Turkey under the Equality Research Program.
The Equality Research Program aims to problematize multiple inequalities in human-human and human-nature relations, to produce data and information in this field, to develop policies to strengthen equality based on this, and to gain experience.
Priority research areas
When evaluating applications, priority will be given to research projects in the following 9 areas. Research proposals are expected to take an intersectional perspective and cover at least two of the following areas of inequality and discrimination simultaneously.
- Class: Economic inequalities, poverty and social mobility, etc.
- Gender: women's rights, gender equality, discrimination against LGBTI+ people, etc.
- Ecology: environmental justice, climate change and its social impacts, etc.
- Ethnicity/Nation: Ethnic and national identities, discrimination, multiculturalism, etc.
- Religion/sect: Discrimination based on religion and sect, dialog between religious groups, etc.
- Locality/Migration: Inequalities in areas such as internal migration, locality, indigeneity, urbanity, right to the city, compatriotism, etc.
- Citizens/non-citizens: Citizenship rights, international migration, rights of refugees and asylum seekers, discrimination, integration and assimilation policies, etc.
- Generations: Inequalities between generations, youth issues and policies, age issues and policies, age discrimination, etc.
- Participation of disabled people in society, urban rights and disability, public policies towards disabled people, discriminatory practices, etc.
