About the Organization
The A.J Muste Memorial Institute runs different grant programs to support nonviolence and social justice. The Social Justice Fund and the Nonviolence Education Fund are programs that support grassroots activists and primarily support small-budget organizations with limited access to central sources of funds.
Priority Areas
Banning the death penalty, supporting workers' organization, strengthening immigration rights, banning nuclear weapons.
About Application
Application to the Social Justice Fund has two stages. Full application is requested from those who pass the pre-application. Applications are made in English and via email. Supported projects under 50,000 USD and organizations with last annual revenue of less than 500,000 USD.
The Nonviolence Education Fund provides up to 4,000 USD for training on how to use nonviolence in theory and practice for social justice programs and campaigns. It can be used for training of trainers or training of campaign participants. Applications must be made in English and by email.
