Grant Scheme on Improved Integration of Disabled Persons into Society
The overall objective of this Call for Proposals is to ensure equal access to goods, services and all aspects of life, to people with disabilities.
The specific objective of the Call for Proposals is to strengthen capacities of CSOs of persons with disabilities and of CSOs defending the rights of persons with disabilities and to enhance the dialogue between the General Directorate on Services to Disabled Persons and Seniors and the CSOs in the realm of disability.
It is expected that the project will improve CSOs’ networks and also the General Directorate on Services to Disabled Persons and Seniors-CSOs dialogue in the disability field in order to ensure active participation of persons with disabilities in every realm of societal life. In this respect, the project will contribute to raise awareness on participation of CSOs in decision-making processes.
It is also expected that the project will strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations of people with disabilities and of civil society organizations defending the rights of persons with disabilities and enhance the public authorities-civil society dialogue in the disability field.
It is conceived that the project will create a great synergy for the improvement of capacities of CSOs and their empowerment in decision-making processes by advising policies and projects in the realm of disability in terms of ensuring social integration, equal access to goods, services, and full participation.
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Minimum amount: EUR 25.000
- Maximum amount: EUR 100.000
The planned duration of an action may not be lower than 10 months or exceed 12 months.
The programme will support activities which fall into one or more of the thematic areas below:
1. Awareness raising: activities targetingpromotion of disability related issues, organization or event in order to create an attitudinal change towards disabled persons in society;
2. Education: activities aiming atensuringequality of educational opportunity for disabled persons and improving education attainment of disabled persons in society;
3. Accessibility: An accessible product and/or service that can be used by all persons with all types of disabilities in order to ensure that persons with disabilities can access their environment, transportation, public facilities and services, and information and communications technologies;
4. Vocational training and sustainable employment: activities aiming at easing difficulties disabled persons faced in the labour market and improving life chances of persons with disabilities to access to job opportunities;
5. Health: activities aiming at improving disabled persons’ chance to benefit from medical rehabilitation, caring product and/or service and also enabling disabled persons to increase control over their health and its determinants, and thereby improve their health;
6. Integration into social life areas (culture, arts, tourism, sports activities, independent life, and social services): activities aiming at ensuring full participation of disabled persons in every aspect of societal life and the realisation of equality of opportunity for disabled persons;
7. Fighting against discrimination: activities aiming at preventing discrimination on the grounds of disability in every aspect of societal life;
In order to be eligible for a grant, Applicants must:
be legal persons and,
be non profit making and,
be non-governmental organisations (CSOs)and,
be established in a Member State of the European Unionor Turkey and,
be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the Action with their partners, not acting as an intermediary.
