The foundation is a charity that works on nature conservation. It funds small nature, biodiversity conservation and pilot projects in developing countries.

About Application
Individual and group applications are accepted. It is recommended that the applicants or groups examine the projects that receive grants from the foundation and make sure that the project they are applying for has been implemented in their country before. Projects should be such that they are carried out largely on site. The project duration should be 12 months. The grant awarded should make up a large part of the project's budget.
Applications are made through their website. The application result is received within three months at the latest and applications are accepted each semester. The Foundation supports projects up to GBP 5,000. If the first grant is found successful, individuals and groups can apply for a second time for a grant scheme of up to GBP 5,000. If the second application is successful, they can apply for another grant scheme called the Rufford Booster Grant, which is worth GBP 10,000. This program can also be applied for a second time for GBP 10,000. Organizations that successfully complete the 2nd Booster program can apply for Completion Fund up to GBP 15,000.
