In the run-up to the Third United Nations Oceans Conference, jointly organized by the Governments of France and Costa Rica, which will take place in Nice in June 2025, special attention will again this year be paid to marine life in the Mediterranean. In solidarity with the victims of the earthquake of February 6, 2023, projects related to the environmental consequences of the disaster will also be considered.
This call for projects is part of France's prioritized environmental diplomacy: France is playing its part in the fight for climate (Paris Agreement 2015), biodiversity (One Planet Summit launched in 2017 and convened annually) and the environment (European Union Green Pact in 2019), both in international forums and bilaterally. This new call for projects will also support the efforts of the Turkish authorities in the environmental field, especially with the ratification of the Paris Agreement in October 2021.
The amount allocated for this year's call for projects is €50,000. The selected projects will receive between €5,000 and €15,000, depending on the jury's decision, which will be announced by the end of March 2025 at the latest.
