About the Organization
ASTRAEA Lesbian Foundation for Justice is the only philanthropy organization working to promote the rights of LGBTI people worldwide. It works with organizations to which it supports projects at the US and international level to bring change to life and to remove the pressure. The programs focus on areas such as the right to live free from violence, racial justice, access to health services, the right to make their own decisions, parental rights, gender equality, cultural change through the organizations they support.

About Application
Astraea has different grant programs.
International Fund: The Fund is awarded to organizations that are run by LGBTI individuals and engage in creative work in the fields of human rights and social change. The applicant must have been in operation for at least 1 year and the requested budget must be 500,000 USD or less. Applications can be made in two terms throughout the year. The online application form is available on their website.
Global LGBTI Human Rights Partnership Fund: Launched in cooperation with USAID in 2012, the Program aims to strengthen the human rights of LGBTI individuals. As of June 2015, the program is open to applications from organizations in Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Kenya, Peru, South Africa, and the Western Balkan countries.
Human Rights Fund for Intersex People: This Program supports organizations, projects, and campaigns by intersex activists that aim to advocate for human rights, bodily independence, physical integrity, and the right to make decisions. Intersex activists and entities around the world can apply for this fund. Application deadlines are available on the website.
Global Art Fund: Within the scope of this program, it is aimed to support the artistic activities and works of LGBTI individuals and organizations that act as tools for social transformation and create impact. Organizations that receive grants under a new theme every year and the Foundation's stakeholders contribute to the nomination process from different branches such as video, film, poetry, music, theater.
