The Lawsuit Process of the Consumer Organizations Federation and the Problems Experienced: Food Industry Practices Report has been published.
While evaluating the effects of pesticides (chemical drugs) and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) on consumption in the report covering the period between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2011, according to the World Health Organization research, nearly 30 million people are poisoned by pesticides every year, while 80 thousand people are died by pesticides.
In the report, it is recommended to ban the entry of GMOs, GMO foodstuffs, and feeds into Turkey, and to protect and develop local gene resources.
