Prison Report

Mahsus Mahal Association published its Prison Report. While the report emphasizes the inadequacy of prison conditions in Turkey, it is stated that Mahsus Mahal Association wants to contribute to the solution of the prison problem. In the report, in which it is pointed out that radical reforms in the penitentiary system should be made urgently, it is underlined that if the problems cannot be solved, prisons will function as a "criminal production center".

In the report, in which suggestions for solutions regarding prison conditions are presented, it is noted that the prison problem in Turkey is related to the treatment of detainees and convicts, rather than the type.                                                  While another problem of prisons is staff shortage and lack of training, the report seeks to solve the problems of health and nutrition problems, capacity problems, working conditions of prison guards, and limitation of living spaces of women, children, LGBT prisoners, and convicts because the prison arrangement is made according to the majority.
