The right of children to enjoy their free time was officially recognized in 1959 with the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and the right to play later took its place in the UN CRC. Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child recognizes the right of the child to rest, leisure, and play. It is expected that the prepared monitoring note will contribute to the ownership of the child's right to play at the local level by analyzing whether the child's right to play is guaranteed in local legislation and policy documents.
