The Directorate General for Youth Services is launching a new training project to increase the competences of youth workers and trainers who play an active role in educational projects and activities in the youth field and to increase the quality and capacity of youth work with new trainers for non-formal education.

Under the coordination of the Directorate General, and in collaboration with civil society organizations, universities, and other stakeholders, a pool of non-formal education trainers will be created. This pool will work to enhance the quality of training activities carried out within the institution using non-formal education methods. The project aims to develop competencies in designing and delivering effective learning experiences for young people through training projects implemented via youth centers and youth offices across Turkey's 81 provinces.

Qualified Human Resources and Organizational Culture: The project seeks to build a network open to learning and development with the support of experienced trainers and experts, aiming to create qualified human resources and transfer organizational culture. The priorities aligned with these goals are as follows:

  • ETS (European Training Strategy) “Competence Model for Trainers”: Improving the competences of youth trainers.
  • Experience-Based Learning Approaches: Ensuring understanding of pedagogical approaches, principles, and methodologies.
  • Trainer Competence and Needs Assessment: Evaluating participants' competences and learning needs as trainers and implementing a training program that addresses these needs.
  • Creating Competent Human Resources: Developing a skilled human resource pool capable of meeting the learning needs of educational activities within the Directorate General for Youth Services (GSB), especially within youth centers and civil society organizations.
  • Training Methodology and Structure: The training methodology will primarily utilize experiential and competence-based learning approaches. The training module will incorporate self-directed, non-formal, and deep learning methods, including online components.
