Global Literacy Network Training Programs Officer
Yuva Association has established and coordinates a network of institutions working in the field of environmental education in Turkey within the scope of the EU project it has been carrying out since 2020. Within the scope of this project, a person who will work as the Training Programs Supervisor will be employed.
YUVA is an adult education institution established in 2010 to produce holistic and sustainable solutions to environmental problems and social issues such as poverty in Turkey and the world. It aims to make a sustainable life possible for all living things.
- Position: Head of Global Literacy Network Education Programs
- Main Responsibilities: Organizing and following up the project activities such as awareness training and trainer training held within YUVA, supporting the development of training contents with the rest of the team, coordinating the volunteer trainer pool and following the activities of the pool, identifying and liaising with the institutions and organizations requesting training To prepare the required and determined project documents and to report to the project coordinator on time.

Job description:
- Organizing Sustainability and Ecological Literacy and Climate Literacy dissemination training and trainer training held within the scope of the Global Literacy Network,
- Coordinating the Learning Center's pool of volunteer trainers and nurturing and supporting network members on related issues,
- To support the development of the content of awareness training as needed,
- Identifying and communicating with institutions and organizations requesting training within the scope of the project.
- To support the preparation of an activity plan within the scope of the project,
- To support the establishment of communication and cooperation with the municipality and other local government institutions within the scope of the project,
- Preparing a monthly report on all the work done and sharing it with the Project Coordinator.
- Organizing promotional activities for project activities,
- Contributing to the preparation of written and visual materials for the media, website, and other promotional activities,
- To determine the materials that will be needed in the activities and to take action for their supply.
- Participating in institution-organization visits if assigned,
- Organizing activities such as thematic workshops, interviews, film screenings, natural site visits when necessary and on important days,
- Participating in internal and external capacity building and advocacy meetings and training when necessary,
- Preparing the required and determined project documents and reporting on time,
- Supporting the preparation of project reports,
- Organizing and participating in activities that take place regularly within the YUVA Learning Center on weekends (weekday leave will be used in case of working on weekends).
Required Qualifications:
- Open to innovations, willing to improve himself, prone to teamwork,
- Interested in environmental education and advocacy, having sufficient knowledge, aware of developments related to their profession,
- Strong observation and communication skills, solution-oriented,
- Working principles, responsible,
- Ability to communicate and report in English,
- Having no travel restrictions and agreeing to work on weekends (if working on weekends, weekday leave will be used),
- Has a driving license (and skill).
Experience:
- Have at least four years of voluntary or professional experience in the field of non-formal education
- Having worked at an NGO or international institutions for at least five years in the fields of environmental sustainability, combating climate change and/or environmental policy is preferred.
Competencies:
- Higher education graduate (from university or equivalent accredited institutions, preferably education or project coordination or environmental sciences),
- Experienced in volunteer coordination
- Experience in developing and organizing training programs.
Computer skills:
- Good use of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint),
- Ability to master and actively use online education tools.
Grammar:
Advanced English (writing, understanding, and speaking)
