Yuva Association is Looking for a Digital Media and Communication Officer

Yuva Association is looking for a teammate to work as Digital Media and Communication Officer within the scope of the projects it carries out.

Job description

• Producing content to follow the agenda of Turkey and the world on coal, fossil fuel, and environmental awareness and to disseminate these issues
• Organizing or participating in campaigns/live events related to coal, fossil fuel, and environmental awareness
• Managing project and institution websites and social media accounts and performing communication activities
• Supporting the preparation of an activity plan within the scope of the project
• Organizing and following up on the project activities
• Supporting the establishment of communication and cooperation with relevant institutions within the scope of the project
• Preparing a monthly report on all the work done and sharing it with the Project Coordinator
• Organizing promotional activities for project events
• Contributing to the preparation of written and visual materials for the media, website, and other promotional activities
• Participating in institution-organization visits if assigned
• Participating in internal and external capacity building and advocacy meetings and training when necessary
• Preparing the required and determined project documents and reporting on time
• Supporting the preparation of project reports
• Supporting the organization and organization of events held at the YUVA Learning Center on weekends when necessary

Required Qualifications

• Being open to innovations, willing to improve himself, prone to teamwork
• Being interested in environmental and advocacy issues, having sufficient knowledge, and being aware of developments related to their profession.
• Having strong observation and communication skills, being solution-oriented
• Being responsible, having working principles
• Having the ability to communicate and report in English
• Having no travel restrictions and being open to working on weekends
• Having a driving license (and skill)

Experience

• At least two years of voluntary or professional experience in CSOs or international institutions in the field of communication and social media
• At least three years of voluntary or professional experience in environmental sustainability, combating climate change, and/or making environmental policies is a strong reason for preference.

Competencies

• Higher education graduate (from university or equivalent accredited institutions, preferably communication or environmental sciences or political sciences)
• Experienced in advocacy, policymaking, policy note terminology, and practices
• Experienced in communication, social media tools, and design
• Experience with online live events and tools

Computer skills:

• Proficient in using MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficient in using design tools in the field of communication

Grammar;

• Advanced English (writing, understanding, and speaking)
