United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), working since 1957 to find practical and innovative solutions to Turkey’s development challenges and providing support to the Government of Turkey in its efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, released its annual report providing detailed information on its 2020 activities in Turkey.
The report features key results achieved during last year by UNDP in Turkey contributing to sustainable development in areas of COVID-19 crisis response, building a resilient and inclusive society, climate change and environment, human rights and good governance, gender equality and women’s empowerment, and innovation. Also, stories of people from all around Turkey touched by these initiatives can be found in this report.
In 2020, UNDP Turkey achieved many results with a positive impact on SDG progress by remaining strongly committed to the principle “Leave No One Behind.” In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the socio-economic recovery efforts in the country were supported, especially for the most vulnerable groups including women and refugees.
