Civil society organisations and human rights defenders who are members of the "Network Against Discrimination" ("Ayrımcılığa Karşı Ağ) have called on them to take joint action to stop hate speech during the elections. The statement reads: "We are observing incidents of discriminatory, derogatory or hate speech being used by many actors ahead of the local elections on 31 March 2024." All institutions, organisations and individuals have been urged to "take action to stop hate speech".
