The aim of the mentoring programme is to support the personal and academic development of young people and give them the opportunity to discover their potential, provide guidance so they can take confident steps on their career path, develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, teach empathy and the ability to understand different perspectives, raise awareness of social responsibility by encouraging them to contribute to society, and strengthen their ability to build strong connections through effective communication.
As a mentor in the "Bir Sen Bir Gelecek" programme:
- You can experience leadership skills based on learning,
- You can develop an awareness of relationships and differences with a younger generation,
- You can gain innovative approaches to your own career and development,
- You can create a social benefit by contributing to the development of a young person.
- As part of the mentoring programme;
“Mentor training”, which aims to strengthen mentors in the mentoring process and in working with young people,
“Mentee Training”, which aims to inform mentees about the mentoring process, 4 “Mentee - Mentor Meetings”, which involve face-to-face meetings between mentors and mentees.
Date and time
The mentoring process takes place between September and October.
Mentors:
Take part in the “mentor training", which lasts 2 hours on one date in September,
They meet with their mentee a total of 4 times, once a week for 1 hour in October.
It is therefore expected that they will spend around 6 hours on the programme during the period in which they provide support as part of a mentoring programme.
Who can apply?
To become a mentor in the mentoring programme, which is part of the "Bir Sen, Bir Gelecek" programme, it is a requirement to be a graduate of one of the local departments and have at least 3 years of experience in the field.
