One of the main goals of the association is to make visible the violations of rights that Kurdish women in particular are subjected to, and to combat women's poverty and gender-based discrimination. In the report they prepared in this context, they addressed the deep poverty experienced by women in Van and how this situation prevents access to basic human rights.
What is in the Report?
- Women's poverty and economic violence
- Impact of migration on women
- Difficulties in accessing fundamental rights
- State policies and solutions for local governments
This report has been prepared in three languages, Turkish, English and Kurdish, and is available for public access on the association's website.
A Resource for Advocacy
The “DE-RIN” report evaluates women's poverty not only as an economic problem but also as a multidimensional violation of rights that deepens gender inequality. The data and findings of the report can be used as a comprehensive advocacy tool for national and international policy makers, civil society organizations and human rights defenders.
This report is intended to be submitted as a shadow report to international human rights mechanisms, to contribute to the United Nations treaty bodies and to be used as a reference in human rights advocacy work.
In the coming period, the Association aims to prepare detailed analyses and information notes on different topics in the report and to share these findings on wider national and international platforms.
