Registration open for seminars to develop the capacity of Turkish civil society in the field of artificial intelligence

The Centre for Democracy Research (CDR) will organise two seminars in Istanbul and Ankara as part of the project "Developing Artificial Intelligence Capacity of Turkish Civil Society". The seminars aim to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of civil society organisations in Turkey about artificial intelligence and digitalisation.

Content of the seminar

The seminars will last a full day in both cities and consist of two sessions. In the first session, which will take place from 10:00-17:00, the President of the Centre for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP), Merve Hickok, will give a presentation entitled "Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights and Democratic Values". In this session, the impact of artificial intelligence on ethics, human rights and democratic values will be discussed.

In the second session, Umut Baran Zorlu, Head of CDR's AI Programme, will explain how civil society organisations can be strengthened with AI-based solutions in their presentation entitled "Strengthen your organisation with productive artificial intelligence", using practical examples.

Materials provided for participants

A special brochure that serves as a guide for civil society organisations in Turkey for digital transformation and AI integration will be presented to the participants during the seminar. Nesibe Kırış, Advisor for CDR's AI Programme, will talk about the brochure and explain the content in detail on how AI can be used as a strategic tool for civil society organisations.

Who should attend?

These seminars are ideal for managers, project leaders and those who want to build their technical capacity in civil society organisations working in Turkey. Participation is free of charge and the cost of lunch is covered by CDR for all events.

The session titled "Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights and Democratic Values" will be held in English, with simultaneous translation provided.
