Law, Nature and Society Foundation (Hukuk, Doğa ve Toplum Vakfı) will organize a webinar titled “Biodiversity and Gender Equality” on September 12 at 18:00 with the presentation of Women4Biodiversity director Mrinalini Rai and moderation by Özlem Altıparmak. Webinar registrations are now open.

Simultaneous translation from Turkish to English will be provided during the webinar.

Who is Mrinalini Rai?

Mrinalini is an environmental justice and women's rights advocate. She has expertise in policy analysis, advocacy and research on gender, human rights and environmental governance. She is committed to integrating human rights and gender equality into UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) decision-making processes. Mrinalini advocates for the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, women, girls and youth in environmental processes and supports community-driven conservation projects in the global South. She founded Women4Biodiversity to ensure that the voices of women and girls are heard and to increase cooperation with biodiversity-related treaties. She also holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences and Sustainable Development from Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
