Red Umbrella Sexual Health and Human Rights Association is looking for a project assistant. The application deadline is February 25, 2022 – 23.59.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities
- The project assistant is expected to act in accordance with the intercultural working environment, adhere to professional and ethical principles, be free from all kinds of discrimination, respect human rights, protecting the client's right to privacy.
- Assisting the project coordinator to ensure that the service provided through the service units within the scope of the project complies with the standard operating procedure.
- To carry out the market research and procurement processes of the purchases to be made within the scope of the project, to ensure that all purchases are made under the standard operating procedures and the procedures of the implementing agency.
- To support the Project Officer in the procurement and event organization processes of the Trans Refugee Support Project, which will be carried out in coordination with the KRG Project.
- To prepare the necessary reports of the project and to support the project coordinator and project manager in this regard, to follow the budget and work plan of the project, and to help the project manager to prepare revisions when necessary.
- Ensuring that the project's monthly expenditure list and progress report are entered into the relevant reporting system.
- Assist in the process of mapping the needs of key refugee groups and relevant stakeholder institutions.
- Carrying out a mapping study with the relevant service unit employee and ensuring that the study is kept up-to-date. Assisting the project coordinator in creating and following the weekly/monthly work plans for the works for which the NGO he works – including those in the service unit – is responsible.
- To support and participate in the organization of necessary meetings and training activities within the scope of the project, to carry out logistics studies, to ensure those event organizations are held by standard operating procedures, and implement agency procedures within the scope of the project.
- To support the preparation of documents, materials, and visual, audio, or written sources to be published/used for the target group within the scope of the project.
- Supporting the Human Resources Manager in the employment processes carried out within the scope of the project, preparing monthly timelines, and sharing them with the staff.
- To support the Project Coordinator, Project Manager, and Project Officer in the preparation and submission of the necessary documents for the audits.
- To support and promote the highest standards of ethical and professional behavior with the Code of Conduct, including Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SHIO) and the Six Core Principles of SHW.
Minimum Requirements and Experience
- At least 2 years of a university degree,
- At least 1 year of professional working experience in a similar project in the field of civil society, to know English,
- Being able to use MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) well; basic computer literacy and ability to use office equipment,
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
Additional Required Competencies
- It is preferable to have taken part in related projects of non-governmental organizations before and to be experienced in NGO work,
- Having previously worked in the fields of sex work, women and/or LGBTI and HIV are preferred.
- To reside or to be able to reside in the specified city,
- Not having a travel disability
- Having a high ability to cope with stress,
- Being able to work as a team.
