Motherhood is in a place where the boundaries of the biological and the social, culture and nature intersect... In this form, it is "sacred" in almost every culture. But there are also things that mothers do in the civic space; they break the routine of social patterns and rewrite the rules of the game. In the story "Mother Hear My Voice" we hear the stories of two mothers who have endured very difficult battles for their lives. We are expecting civil society workers, volunteers and anyone who is curious about the stories in the civic space to come to our meeting.

Whose stories will we listen to?
Eray Özgüner (Burak Özgüner Animal Rights Work Centre): In the days when death and loss suddenly knocked on his door and touched his life, he said "Mum!" She heeded the call and became an activist while she cried. She became brave, strong and multiplied with love as she stood up for animal rights. A traveller with a heart, committed to improving the lives of all living beings, regardless of species.
Nimet Sarıkaya(Biyonik Kulaklı İşitme Engelliler Derneği): While thinking about what she could do for her child in his struggle for silence as a mother, she touched the lives of all special children and individuals who say "Mother, hear my voice!" in the civic space in Kütahya on her way and advocated for disadvantaged groups in society and social sectors to say "We exist too!"
What are Power Stories Meetings?
Power Stories is the name for our meetings where we tell and listen to our own stories. As civil society workers, volunteers and enthusiasts, we come together for storytelling. At "Power Stories", we hear first-hand real stories that have emerged in different channels of the civic space, reflect together with the storytellers' stories, and talk about how we can move forward together on the difficult paths that lead to change.
