Outlook of Freedom of Association in Turkey: Monitoring Report of Guidelines for EU Support to Civil Society in Enlargement Countries

The report of the study in which we monitoring the freedom of association in Turkey within the scope of the Right to Participate project that we carry out and is supported by the European Union has been published.   In the report titled as “Outlook of Freedom of Association in Turkey”, while it is indicated that one of the important factors that will contribute to extend the field of right to participation, is monitoring and reporting the implementation generated by the legal and administrative framework, emphasized that this monitoring work is substantial because both for understanding the current situation of civil society’s organizing and what are the main issues and understanding the view of right to participate in implementation.   While in the first part which constitutes the roof of the three-section report, information was given regarding the “Monitoring Report of Guidelines for EU Support to Civil  Society in Enlargement Countries”, in the second part, an assessment takes place regarding the regulation of the right to participation in Turkey. This section also provides information on the nature of the legislation regarding employment and volunteering in non-governmental organizations, financial rules, and reporting obligations that CSOs are subject to, funding tools for CSOs, public funds for CSOs, and participation of non-governmental organizations in political decision-making processes. The last section includes recommendations.
