The workshop, designed for rights defender organizations and activists to plan nonviolent campaigns and develop their nonviolence muscles, will take place in Istanbul between December 4-8, 10.30-17.30.
What is Nonviolent Campaign Training?
A campaign is a series of strategic actions aimed at change. Nonviolent campaigns are not just about strategic actions. Nonviolent campaign practitioners refer to the principles of nonviolence for long-term and effective change and use nonviolent methods and tactics during the campaign.
In nonviolent campaign training, participants will:
• Understand what nonviolence is and relate it to campaign planning.
• Experience strategic campaign planning.
• Understand nonviolent tactics and select tactics appropriate to the campaign strategy.
• Learn participatory decision-making methods.
• Develop effective meeting skills.
Who Can Apply and How?
• If you are in a rights-based civil society organization or community,
• If the organization or community you are involved with is already planning a campaign and/or aims to plan a nonviolent campaign,
• You are an activist who wants to take action for change,
• If you want to plan a nonviolent campaign,
• If you will be able to attend all 5 days of face-to-face sessions
You can apply for the training by filling out the application form until November 12, 23.59.
• The training quota is limited to 16 people.
• Travel and accommodation expenses of participants coming from outside Istanbul will be covered by the Nonviolent Center.
