Purposes and the Way of Work
The aim of MIO-ECSDE is to explore the natural environment (water, air, soil, flora and fauna, biotopes, forests, coastal, natural resources and climate) and cultural heritage (archaeological and more recently built monuments, traditional residential areas, cities, cultural diversity, etc.). The ultimate goal of MIO-ECSDE is to develop sustainable development in a healthy and peaceful Mediterranean.
For these purposes, MIO-ECSDE works to create a general understanding and cooperation environment between NGOs and state bodies, parliaments, local authorities, international organizations and socio-economic actors of the Mediterranean region at all levels through NGOs.
Membership Criteria
In order to become a MIO-ECSDE member, membership procedures can be initiated by sending the membership application form on the website, the organization's charter and other legal documents, together with the information report on the activities carried out in the last two years, to the MIO-ECSDE Secretariat (12, Kyrristou str. 105 56 Athens/Greece).
The application is first evaluated by MIO-ECSDE at the executive office meeting and the decision of the general assembly is awaited for final approval.
