DPI is a network of disability associations and organizations that aim to strengthen the rights of people with disabilities through their full participation in society, equalization and development of opportunities.

Purposes and the Way of Work
- To improve the human rights of persons with disabilities,
- To ensure the economic and social integration of disabled people with the rest of the society,
- To support organizations in which disabled people can express themselves and to encourage the formation of new ones.
Membership and Membership Requirements
All organizations coordinated by persons with disabilities can be members of the national board of their country of residence. 80% of DPI's national boards are in developing countries.
