CCB currently brings together 18 member organizations from Belarus, Ukraine, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. CCB member organizations represent over half a million individuals from all countries around the Baltic Sea.
Purposes and the Way of Work
The main objective of the CCB is to ensure the protection and improvement of the Baltic Sea environment and natural resources. In this direction, it seeks and produces opportunities to develop new and constructive approaches to encourage individuals and organizations to be part of the solution, not the problem.
The priority areas of activity of CCB are gathered under the titles "Improving and Sustaining Water Quality", "Preventing Activities with Potential Damage to the Environment in the Baltic Sea and its Coasts" and "Creating Sustainable Baltic Sea Fishing Areas".
Membership Criteria
The mission and objectives of the members are expected to be in line with the CCB mission and objectives.
In addition, the applicant should:
- Be a non-profit environmental NGO operating on the environment in the Baltic Sea region,
- Operate mainly in the Baltic Sea region and its activities should be directed towards the protection of the environment and natural resources of the Baltic Sea basin,
- Present a democratically based structure based not only on the local, but also on a national, regional and / or international organization approach.
