The Children's Climate Community will host a meeting on “Climate Action and Children's Rights” in Izmir on 11-12 May 2024, which will be attended by members and volunteer candidates to help children better equip themselves against the effects of climate change and contribute to their goals.
What topics will be discussed in the 2-day programme?
- What are the rights of children? How are they addressed in the context of international human rights law?
- What is a rights-based approach and mainstreaming?
- Basic principles of a rights-based approach to children's rights
- The impact of climate change on children's rights
- State obligations on climate change
Who can participate?
- Those with a child-centred approach to education,
- Who are interested in environmental education and climate protection and want to learn about these concepts,
- Who would like to participate in an initiative to promote children's rights,
- People who are directly or indirectly active in the field of children's rights can apply for the programme.
