During the meetings held between December 12-15, 2023, CSOs shared their experiences during and after the earthquake, discussed their needs, and presented solutions. Civil society organizations active in various fields such as housing, education, health, and access to basic rights talked about what has been achieved, what has not, and what will be needed in the coming months since the earthquake.
Working to mitigate the effects of the great devastation
As the Civil Society Development Center, we are focusing on developing programs to enable CSOs working in the earthquake-affected areas to conduct better, more effective, and more efficient work in the coming period. We are preparing to support CSOs working in the earthquake region in collaboration with the Disaster Platform to strengthen civil society in Turkey in disaster preparedness.
Over the next 2 years, we will work on various issues, from volunteer orientation to the principled implementation of humanitarian aid, advocacy efforts to the development of technological infrastructure. We are also in the process of preparing for grant support to CSOs working in the earthquake region as part of this program.
