Media Workshops for Trans Activists is open to LGBTI+ who want to produce news, write their stories/experiences and participate in Pembe Hayat's volunteer trans media network.
Workshop participants will learn not only basic news writing skills and techniques, but also news production and writing at the heart of rights-based journalism, gender-focused journalism, and journalism in civil society, as well as LGBTI+ representation in the media and examples of hate speech. They learn to look at news through storytelling in terms of visibility and representation, and to use digital tools that uncover the potential of news production to help spread new and interesting stories.
- Trans activists will be given priority in applications.
- Workshops are open only to those over the age of 18.
