The program for journalists who have just started or are about to start their careers will be coordinated by Gokcer Tahincioglu, representative of T24 Ankara, and Banu Tuna, head of the Istanbul branch of the Turkish Journalists' Union (TGS).
During the 1.5-year program, professional journalists will share their on-the-ground reporting experiences with participants. Participants will also produce news for MLSA, the newspaper produced by Haber Atolyesi and published three times so far. Numerous editorial meetings will be held during the news production and the workshop will offer the opportunity to work in an editorial office.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with experienced journalists during the program, which will begin with the first three-day workshop in October 2022.
Travel and lodging expenses will be covered by MLSA for the program's workshop sessions, which will span at least three physical meetings and last approximately 1.5 years. Participants are expected to prepare high-quality news stories for the MLSA newspaper, as recommended by the coordinators, which will be published after each workshop.
