As civil society organizations, we often meet at meetings to organize our works and plan the events. However, prolonged meetings are one of the main problems that affect the pace and efficiency of work. While the particular part of the day is spent with meetings, efficient usage of the time becomes too important. As the place where the problems are solved, decisions are made and needed informations are given, meetings need to be well planned and managed. So, how is a good meeting planned?
Experts of “BİRLİKTE: Local CSOs Institutional Support Program” supported by the European Union, have prepared an information note labeled “Meeting Management” to answer this question. The note explains the necessary steps of an efficient meeting and how to manage a meeting. In the note, it was emphasized that it is important to determine the purpose of the meeting and the number of people to attend before deciding to hold a meeting, and it was pointed out that it is beneficial for a good meeting to invite people who can contribute to the meeting with a different perspective.
It was noted that one of the important issues in meeting management is the meeting agenda and follow-up, and it is also important that all opinions are expressed in a good meeting.
