The project, which will be implemented by the Youth Services Centre (GSM) Association, Mardin Joint Women's Cooperation Association (MOKİD) and Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation (um:ag) and will run for 36 months, is based on equality and zero discrimination through online and face-to-face activities. It aims to connect 25-year-old university students.
In terms of developing and spreading a human rights culture in society, young people's understanding of human rights is an important dimension of the project. "The Human Rights Monitoring Meetings" the first step of the project for youth, will be held in November and December in Ankara, Diyarbakır, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Mardin and Mersin. The aim of the follow-up meetings is to discuss with young academics from seven cities the information and data from national and international reports on human rights related to women, religious/belief groups and LGBTI+ rights.
Conditions for participation in the human rights monitoring meetings:
- Be interested in issues related to human rights and discrimination,
- Be in the age group of 18-25 years,
- Be a university student in Ankara, Diyarbakir, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Mardin or Mersin.
- No experience is required to attend the meetings.
The meetings are open to students of all disciplines.
