Academy Program
As the Association for the Women's State of Solidarity, we are excited to share the call of the Gender Academy that we will hold this year.
For gender equality and LGBTI + rights to be visible and embraced, we will learn together in many areas from the feminism movement in the world to the history of feminism in Turkey and the Kurdish women's movement, from the gender-based division of labor to sexuality, from masculinity to LGBTI + and queer theory, from the gender of cinema to the gender of law. Would you like to join us in this academy where an instructor told and readings about the subjects are made?
Who can apply to the academy?
Young women from universities between the ages of 17 and 25 from Diyarbakır, Batman, Urfa, and Mardin provinces can apply.
What are the goals and objectives of the Gender Academy?
The academy aims to develop egalitarian attitudes and behaviors regarding gender by increasing knowledge and skills to combat gender inequality, gender-based violence, and patriarchy.
The academy aims to ensure that 30 participants, whose applications were approved within the scope of the project, provide training to at least 2 institutions after completing their education in the field of gender. The training will be held in a company with mentors and jointly determined institutions.
How will the Gender Academy be?
The Diyarbakır Gender Academy project will be spread over a year and will include 12 lessons in total.
One training will be given in periods of 15 days. After the training, the participant group will meet together with the mentors on a day determined jointly.
We will have online training due to the pandemic conditions. (Lessons will be held on Zoom application.)
Considering the social distance and health conditions, face-to-face training will be held at the office of the Women's State of Solidarity Association (Diyarbakır).
