About the Organization
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation supports international interaction and cooperation efforts to contribute to the welfare of humanity and the development of the international community. The Middle East Islam Fund under the Special Funds of the SPF provides grants to civil society organizations working to develop and deepen understanding and political, economic, social, and cultural exchange between Japan and the Middle East.
Priority Areas
Knowledge transfer about Japan, human resource exchange, capacity building, research on maritime security.
About Application
Non-profit organizations, civil society organizations and universities can apply for this fund. The project duration can be between one and three years. Although there is no restriction on the grant amount, this amount has been between 20,000 and 100,000 USD per project annually in the past years.
The projects start on April 1 and complete on March 31. Applications can be prepared in English and Japanese. You can access application and budget forms on the website. Applications are accepted by "post" only. Applications are finalized in March.
