In the context of Independent Journalism, the Open Society Foundations supports initiatives by individuals or collectives seeking to improve their journalism under difficult conditions such as autocracy, violence, repression or poverty.
About Application
Journalism organizations, networks, new organizations, and informal groups involved in the production of journalism can apply for grants. The program does not support individual journalism projects such as documentaries, books, self-study lessons, special story offers, or training for journalists. It supports special research or individual projects and project-based organizations targeting countries where journalists are at risk.
