About the Organization
The Global Heritage Fund (GHF) focuses on the protection and development of some of the most important and endangered world cultural heritage sites in developing countries and regions. It gives funds by establishing partnerships in this field.
Priority Areas
Protection of cultural heritage, conservation of archaeological sites, cultural heritage education, sustainable tourism development, development of communities around their cultural heritage.
About Application
GHF funds individuals and organizations. However, individuals must be part of an institution such as a university or civil society organization. GHF partners with the institution it funds and becomes part of the project. GHF works with the advisory board and experts to identify possible GHF projects each year. The submitted project must meet certain criteria to be selected as a GHF project. ,
These criteria are as follows:
- Being an area under UNESCO's world cultural heritage list and endangered or being an archaeological or cultural heritage site with universal value,
- Per capita income in a region or country less than 3 USD per day,
- Having a strong local team and supporters,
- Having an existing or prepared functional protection management plan,
- Having a high potential open to sustainable protection with social participation.
The amount of funding varies according to the project.
