About the Organization
FRIDA is a feminist program that provides small grants to support a growing number of young feminist organizations. Grants structured through a participatory method are given as flexible grants and operational support.
Priority Areas
It supports groups and organizations led by young women under the age of 30 or trans* and intersex young people and working to improve the lives of young women or trans and intersex young people.
FRIDA is keen to support new formations and organizations that are not officially registered to demonstrate the potential to make an impact despite a repressive environment. Priority is given to marginalized groups that cannot reach large donors or to organizations working with them.
About Application
Applications are made online every 4-6 months each year. Applications are evaluated by FRIDA staff and experts and can be voted online by young feminist groups.
Capacity-building support is also provided to organizations that qualify for a grant. The 5,000 USD fund can be used for 12 months for operational expenses or activities and can be renewed for the following period.
Organizations with a budget of 50,000 USD or more are not supported.
Applications can be made in Arabic, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, or Chinese.
