About the Organization
CIVICUS, a network of civil society organizations, civil networks, professional organizations, and fund organizations active in the local, national, and international arena, carries out important advocacy activities to support citizen participation, which is the basis of democracy. CIVICUS provides small grants to national non-governmental organizations through the “Crisis Response Fund” for emergency advocacy work in time-limited situations.

About Application
The Crisis Response Fund is open to all civil society organizations. Instead of dealing with individual situations, the Fund aims to protect the civil society sector from systematic threats to its existence. Examples of these threats include new or restrictive laws, systematic targeting of human rights defenders, unjust closure of civil society organizations, and financial threats against civil society organizations. Applications must cover a maximum of 6 months and not exceed 10,000 USD.
