Yeni Akit's new target: Kızılcık Şerbeti
The Show TV series Kızılcık Şerbeti, which centers on the lifestyle conflicts that arise after the marriage of the children of two families, one conservative and one secular, has been targeted for a while on grounds such as "insulting Islamic values", "setting a bad example for children" and "violence against women".
Yeni Akit targeted the editors of the series by saying that the team was "keen on stirring up controversy over religious concepts". In the same article, another controversial scene of the series was cited and it was stated that the scene was "designed to insult religious people".
While the controversy over the series continued, RTÜK fined the series 1.5 million TL and suspended the program 5 times on the grounds that it "encouraged violence against women" and "oppression against women".
