Participants of the Human Rights Watch Trainer Training will have the opportunity to develop themselves in human rights monitoring by participating in a series of events spanning October and November (2021). There will also be opportunities to attend a special webinar with one of the international human rights mechanisms. Participants who complete the 4 steps of the training program will also be presented with a certificate. The participants who are entitled to receive a certificate will be able to be assigned tasks in the future studies of the Etkiniz EU Program, taking into account their performance in the training program.
Human Rights Monitoring Trainer Training Program Content
The training program is designed to be two-month learning and sharing journey with one-on-one training sessions, webinars, e-learning modules, and assignments to be delivered by expert trainers.
Participants will have the opportunity to use learning tools with each other and on their own while working with experts.
To complete the Human Rights Watch Train the Trainer program and qualify for certification, all participants will need to complete the following 4 steps:
Step 1 |

Step 2 |
All participants will be given a handout during the training sessions (to be completed in November). Must complete 2 learning tasks. These two tasks will be short research on the subject. |
Step 3 | All participants must attend the webinar to be held in November with one of the international human rights mechanisms. |
Step 4 | All participants accepted to the training, by 10 December 2021 at the latest, at egitim.etkiniz.eu Must complete 3 core self-learning modules on the Etkiniz Human Rights Watch Education Portal. |
Participants who complete the above four steps will be considered to have completed the training program.
Who can attend the Human Rights Watch Trainer Training?
- Volunteers, employees, or members of civil society organizations can participate in the training.
- It is preferable for the civil society organization represented by the participants to conduct and plan human rights monitoring studies in a field related to human rights.
- To protect the quality of education, to ensure that video workshops take place, and to ensure interaction, civil society representatives who agree to participate in the training that will take place on the Zoom platform will be accepted.
- Priority will be given to applicants who were previously provided with international education support by Etkiniz EU Programme.
How are participants determined?
Participation in the training is limited to 30 people. The applications are evaluated according to the following priorities and the participants are determined:
- Filling the application form, completely, and carefully. Carelessly filled application forms will not be considered.
- The application objectives are related to the training program and the Etkiniz EU Programme,
- Ensuring diversity in the fields of work of civil society organizations,
- Ensuring gender balance,
- Ensuring geographical balance,
- Priority will be given to applicants who were previously provided with international education support by Etkiniz EU Programme.
