The "Sustainability Training, Advocacy and Policy Document" was developed and published together with the members of the Global Literacy Network (KOZA) within the scope of the Environmental Literacy Communication Network Project initiated by Yuva Association and Kyoto Club in 2020, supported by the European Union, in order to raise environmental awareness and support educational efforts.
In today's world, environmental sustainability training plays an important role in addressing the serious ecological challenges threatening our planet. As we face issues such as the impacts of the climate crisis, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, it becomes clear how critical it is to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and values to support sustainable practices.
It is hoped that this document will serve as an important reference in the field of environmental sustainability training advocacy. It also includes recommendations for national policy makers and local governments in Turkey to promote and support environmental sustainability training.
Yuva Association encourages cooperation between individuals, communities and institutions by spreading awareness of environmental responsibility and works for a greener and more sustainable world. It argues that increasing cooperation between public institutions, local governments and civil society organizations will make environmental sustainability training policies and programs more effective and inclusive. Therefore, it recognizes civil society organizations as important stakeholders in the development of environmental sustainability training in Turkey and underlines their importance.
