The report was prepared in response to two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, and the numerous aftershocks that followed, with the aim of revealing the violations and discrimination faced by Roma communities living in the region in accessing humanitarian aid and state support for earthquake victims.
As part of this study, visits were made to the provinces of Adana, Adıyaman, Hatay, Gaziantep, Malatya and Şanlıurfa in April. The report on the situation of Roma groups focuses on access to humanitarian assistance, the right to shelter, the right to an adequate standard of living, access to information and support for earthquake victims within the framework of fundamental rights.
