In her article titled "Contexts Determining the Struggle for Women's Rights in Turkey", Serpil Sancar emphasizes that the struggle for women's rights, as in other struggles for rights, can only be perceived by those who have the problem when they are concretely described and demanded.
Sancar says that the feminist movement in Turkey is also left alone in its struggle for rights. She reminds that the field of 'women's issues' which the state institutions do not undertake and put into the field of public service, is embraced by women's organizations through developing international relations and providing funds.
Sancar also draws attention to the fact that the inevitable relationship between militarism and violence against women should now be questioned.
