Current Issues in the Age of Crisis: Energy Webinar from the Green Thought Association

Green Thought Association, in partnership with Heinrich Böll Stiftung Turkey Representative, will organize a webinar titled Current Issues in the Age of Crisis: Energy on 30 March.

The webinar will take place online on Wednesday, March 30 at 13:00. Its moderation is Assoc. Dr. In the webinar to be held by Ahmet Atıl Asıcı, Prof. Dr. Uğur Emek will talk about the "Environmental Effects of Mega Projects", and "Turkey's 2053 target and crises" will be discussed with Bengisu Özenç, Director of the Sustainable Economics and Finance Research Association (SEFIA).

 

About Bengisu Ozenc

She received her bachelor's degree in 2005 and her master's degree in 2008 from Bilkent University, Department of Economics. Between 2005 and 2017, she worked as a researcher, project manager, and finally, Macroeconomic Studies Program Director at the Turkish Economic Policy Research Foundation. Özenç, who has carried out studies in different fields such as industrial policy and employment policy, has been focusing on studies at the intersection of energy, economy, and climate change since 2012.

Bengisu Özenç has been the director of the Sustainable Economy and Finance Research Association since September 2020, actively collaborating with other researchers and institutions working in the field of climate, and working to provide data and information to support Turkey's low-carbon development agenda.

Prof. Dr. About Uğur Emek

Between 1989 and 2016, as a Planning Specialist at the State Planning Organization, he made many written and oral contributions to various national and international studies and meetings in the fields of public-private partnerships, public tenders, and competition policy. He was promoted to professor in August 2017 at Başkent University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department, where he was appointed as an associate professor in January 2016. He has been the Head of the Department of Economics since 2019. At the same time, he writes a weekly column in the newspaper "Decision".
