Caring Workplace Award for Inspiring Stories Awaiting Applications

Postane (the Postal Service) and Hafıza Merkezi (the Memory Center) have launched a campaign called the Caring Workplace Award as part of the Caring Workplaces project, which aims to make workplaces more inclusive, pluralistic, caring and safe by bringing a gender+ perspective to the forefront.

The campaign, aimed primarily at civil society actors and social enterprises, aims to highlight inspiring stories from these sectors. The campaign will ask to showcase inspiring workplaces related to caring practices. Following the nomination process, a jury will draw up a shortlist of nominees, which will then be put to the vote.

A checklist for your organization

What does it mean for a workplace to be caring? What does care entail? How can your facility be evaluated on these aspects? Using the checklist, you can evaluate your workplace on five dimensions (spatial, policy, program, community, beyond business).

A Guide for Civil Society and Social Initiatives Caring Workplaces: A Guide for Civil Society and Social Initiatives, produced as part of the project and authored by Ezgi Kan, draws a comprehensive framework for caring workplaces and highlights inspiring examples.

Primarily summarizing the experiences of civil society actors and social enterprises in Turkey and Europe, the report also includes a checklist as a guide for institutions looking to take a step in this direction.

The guide covers the different dimensions of a caring workplace under the headings of space, policy, program, community, and beyond the workplace, and takes an intersectional (gender+) approach. The good examples researched are "inspiring stories" in the report, inspired by the concept of "better stories" by academic Dina Georgis.
