The Anti-Vivisection Association Association has developed a mobile application that lists products that are not tested on animals. The application, called Experimentless, is based on a guide created after researching more than 120 brands of cosmetics and cleaning products.
The guide was created by reviewing the umbrella companies and their status as test-free, determining whether the products contained animal testing and whether they were sold physically in China. If so, this was checked against criteria such as exemption from animal testing depending on various conditions and registration in a certification program.
Brands with insufficient information or contradictory information about their animal-test-free status were not included in the application.
To help users decide, brands are also included in a point system that ranges from 4 to 10 and can be listed in the application by category as well as by score.
