Alternative encounters - Hatay begins

The Flying Broom Women's Communication and Research Association will organise "Alternative Encounters" with the support of the Sivil Düşün Programme of the European Union. This art, culture and thought festival, which was first organised by the Flying Broom Association in Ankara, was prepared in Hatay, its second station, in cooperation with the Hasat Association, together with Kesra Okumuş and Özlem Çolak.

"Alternative Encounters-Hatay" will take place on 11, 12and 13 July with the participation of artists and activists from various fields.

Özlem Çolak, Kesra Okumuş, Osman Yıldız, Serpil Sultanoğlu from Hatay, Bestami Eği from Diyarbakır, Pelin Özer from Istanbul, Sipan Dağdeviren from İzmir and Hazal Günal, Selen Doğan and Sinem Sefa Akay from Ankara will organise a total of 13 workshops over three days under various titles, from ecology to mosaic, from short film to ‘haiku’, from storytelling to photography, from collage to sculpture.

“Alternatif Karşılaşmalar-Hatay

Poster depicting artist Bestami Eği's depiction of 12 houses, animals, and human figures on used tea bags is described as follows: In the center of the poster, against a white background, are the logos of Uçan Süpürge Derneği and Hasat Derneği, contributors to the project. Below them, in large font, is written "Hatay Alternatif Karşılaşmalar," and just beneath are the dates "11-12-13 July 2024." The central image shows the artworks of houses, animals, and humans on used tea bags by Bestami Eği. Beneath the image, logos are displayed in sequence: Deprem Dayanışması Derneği, Samandağ Dayanışma Evleri, Zeytun Çocuk ve Yaşam Alanı, Yeşilpınar Mahalle İnisiyatifi, and Servas Barış Okulu, who provided venue support for the project. At the very bottom is the logo of the European Union Civil Society Program and a disclaimer.
