We speak together for a strong civil society: The first meeting takes place in Ankara

Our first meeting will take place in Ankara to discuss a common future with civil society as part of our Capacity Building Centre for Civil Society project supported by the European Union.

We are expecting you at the event we will organise on Tuesday 14 May 2024 to discuss together how we can build more participatory, transparent, equal, accountable and stronger structures and make the voice of civil society heard in building a shared future.

What will we talk about?

How can civil society organisations contribute to the democratisation of society? How can civil society engage more effectively in processes that affect their field? In other words: How can civil society organisations, which are the voice of citizens and a fundamental actor of democracy, become more reliable, stronger and more democratic structures? We will reflect together on the answers to these and similar questions.

In this meeting, we will discuss how we can strengthen our organisations to create a possible life to bring about change for an equal, fair and free future where we are all included and nature is protected, how we can effectively shape the role of civil society organisations in regulating the civic space, and what opportunities there are to develop strategies, norms, standards and common principles for civil society organisations in Turkey.

What do we want?

  • We want a stronger civil society!
  • We want to change for the sake of change, and we want to be strong in the way we go!
  • We want to become more effective actors in issues that affect civil society!
